Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) evaluate and provide skilled speech-language therapy to individuals in a home setting, under the care of an attending physician. At Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, the home setting may include single or multi-family homes, assisted living, independent living, or memory care.
The SLP evaluates and treats patients with language impairments, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, cognitive communication difficulties, voice disorders, and those requiring alternative or augmentative communication. At Enhabit, an SLP may often work with patients who have experienced a stroke, and those with progressive diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

Responsibilities include:

- Represent Enhabit in activities involving professional relationships with physicians, hospitals, public health agencies, nurses' associations, state and county medical societies to apprise them of the availability of services.
- Implement programs and protocols that provide improved home health care and hospice services.
- Serve as a public awareness representative for Enhabit.
- Responsible for public education relative to home health care and hospice services available through the agency and methodologies for obtaining such services.
- Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding referral and admission goals as set by Division Manager.
- Perform in-home and ensure visit time fully meets the needs of the patient.
- Coordinate total patient care including interdisciplinary communication with other health care providers to enhance continuity of care.
- Render skilled nursing care, as assigned by the registered nurse, according to the physician’s orders.
- Recognize and interpret symptoms; report patient’s condition and assist with or institute remedial measures for adverse developments.

- Ensure lab tests are obtained, stored, and transported according to acceptable laboratory practice and OSHA guidelines.

This part-time salaried position works 24 hours/week, over 4 days in the week, and is eligible for our 60% paid days off program.
